Hamisi "Gaga" Ogaya

meet Hamisi

Director of Church-Based Education

 

Hamisi is originally from Nairobi, Kenya. He and his wife, Rose have one daughter, Natania. Hamisi has earned the equivalent of a master’s degree in sports ministry with over 20 years of sports ministry experience locally and internationally.

 

Hamisi and his family moved to the U.S. in 2023 to Direct the Church-Based Education Program (Launch) at Destiny Church and The Edge Sports and Art Academy.

 

Hamisi coaches soccer and has held soccer clinics and camps in Kenya, the U.S., Germany, Congo, China, India, South Africa, and East Africa. He served as assistant head coach of the Nairobi City Stars Pro team in the Kenya Premier League; Head coach of Petra boys (Ambassadors in Sports): World Sports Ministry International, General Secretary of Kickoff to Hope Kenya Foundation, and as spiritual leader of Kenyan ex-international soccer players, coaches, and other team leaders. He has also served as Director of J316 Ministry International, and currently oversees Sports Aid Africa in Kenya. Hamisi is a UEFA B licensed trainer with several years of experience equipping and training churches on sports evangelism, discipleship, counseling, values-based mentoring, and life coaching.

 

Hamisi is an Arsenal fan and is passionate about playing, watching, and coaching soccer. He also enjoys listening to gospel music, traveling, and developing others to be who God created them to be especially children and youth.
